MINI-WORKSHOPS

Journey into the Realm of the Senses

What would it be like to live a fully sensual life, to be so tuned into your senses that you would know instinctively what is occurring not just in your own body but in others’ bodies & in the body of the earth? Australian Aboriginals know where a member of their tribe is within 1,000 miles, where water is, and are able to commune with different species in the natural world. Being tuned in to that extent is foreign to our modern Western culture & probably scary. Yet, 80% of the information received in our brain comes directly from the senses.
In order to live more fully in the realm of the senses, we need to surrender our reliance on the thinking mind & on our past experiences, to attend to what is occurring here & now, inside our bodies, in our connection to earth, gravity, ground, space, to the context we are in. In this workshop, we will focus on practices of sensory awareness, and of perceiving & moving from the inside out.

Tapping into your Visionary Self

We all have the potential to perceive beyond our limited, habitual ways, to see our relationship to self, to others & to the world. To tap into the mystery, to the unknown, unrealized parts of ourselves, we need to shift our gaze & open up to new possibilities, open up our dreams to “the thin place where the seen meets the unseen.” Springtime is a time of new beginnings, seeds that have been planted in the soil over the dark time of winter, now begin to sprout & emerge from the earth where they’ve been composting, preparing to be transformed.

We need a supportive & enlivening container to enter into this adventure, to find the missing, unexplored realms in ourselves. In this workshop, we will use the tools & processes of Continuum, to create a neurally rich, hibernative field which supports & enriches the slowing down into an empty, still place where each of us finds the opening to who we really are & our connection to the larger field.

Saturday, February 20th “Journey into the Realm of the Senses,” & Saturday March 27th “Tapping into your Visionary Self,”
Time: 2-5pm @ Yoga on 7th, 156 E7 (between Main & Quebec – enter @ side off alley). Investment $45 for each workshop or $80 for both. (20% off for underemployed).

HEART OF AWAKENING

Each heart
contains our
essential song,
which dwells
in seed form,
and waits
to be watered
with attention
and nourished with
genuine emotion.
Together we create a
context of awakening,
courtship of the
mystery and
creative expression.
This weekend is
devoted to practices
of movement,
awakening
wholehearted
attention, and
perceiving the
discoveries of the
listening body.
On the optional
Monday we deepen
the explorations
with a small group,
which allows for
individual inquiry
and attention.

WHAT WILL WE DO?
In deep long movement dives, we breathe, slow down, sound, listen, feel, deepen our capacity for fluid
grounded embodiment, and rest into spacious silence. We explore movement in the language of life
with subtle wave motion, primordial breaths and sounds, micromovements with open attention.
Through movement, perception and new coordination we strengthen the roots of our heart in our legs,
feet and pelvis. We express what lives in our heart through the gestures of our hands, arms, and body.

INQUIRE IN A CONTEXT OF DISCOVERY – The unknown in each of our hearts is deeply personal and
intimately connected to the heart of the world. May this be a context for your soul to awaken,
discover, and articulate your heartfelt longings, and offer your discoveries to our world.
Many of us spend much of our energy protecting our tender, sensitive hearts from being overwhelmed,
and from further heart wounds. Through perceptual and movement exercises we will build whole body
resources to arouse the fire of the heart, to build strength of heart, in embodied ways, to support
having a tender, receiving heart as we awaken our generative, full of passion, creative heart.

Description:

Orbital Consciousess with Emilie Conrad
April 30-May 3, 2010 in Seattle, WA
Doris Mosler 206-782-0120, dhmosler@aol.com

We humans carry with us a four billion year planetary lineage that offers a 360-degree participation with the world we live in. Our bodies are in a phase-shift as all of our intrinsic functions are waiting to continue their bio-sequencing.

Our unfolding “orbital consciousness” transforms our bodies, and circulating full body breath, we gleam like an octopus. Our new structure gifts us with extended faculties, new forms of communication and ways of knowing we never thought possible.
